8:15 AM - 8:45 AM    Adult Fitness Classes - Session 1: Senior Strides
Senior StridesThis is a low-impact class with interval weight training. If you are able to march forward and step side to side, then this class is for you!  This class will also help you develop stronger muscles in your chest, shoulders, biceps, and back by using light hand weights.Toning, Abs and PilatesThis hour long class is a mix of weight training, abdominal workout, and core strengthening mat pilates. Weights and mats available.Sit-N-Get Fit! Are you interested in joining a fitness class, but are worried that it might be too strenuous on your joints?  Maybe you think you won't be able to keep up with everyone?  Have you ever been sitting in a chair and started tapping your feet or lifting your shoulders up in time to the music?  If you have, then Sit-N-Get Fit is the class for you!  This is a 30 minute class allowing you to sit the entire time while you strengthen, tone and become more flexible.POUND FIT: Pound fitness is the world's first cardio jam session!  A combination cardio and weight training exercise approach that includes some of the rhythmic techniques used in  Pilates.  Pound is a full-body workout. 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM    York County Area Agency On Aging Classes - A Matter of Balance
MATTER OF BALANCE:This is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Because many people experience a fear of falling, they often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. This program will help achieve and overcome that fear.The class is taught by staff from the York County Area Agency on Aging.DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT:  This program will discuss action planning, decision making, dealing with difficult emotions, healthy eating, exercise, communication skills, using your mind & more! Participants are 60+ living with type 2 diabetes or 60+ caregiver of someone living with type 2 diabetes.CHRONIC DISEASE SELF-MANAGEMENT PROGRAM - LOOKING BEYOND MY CONDITION:CDSMP was developed by Stanford University.  It's a self-management education workshop attended for people with a variety of chronic health conditions like arthritis, pain, hypertension, cancer and more.  It aims to build participants' confidence in managing their health by providing tools like healthy eating, stress management, dealing with difficult emotions, action planning and more.
 
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM    Indoor Shuffleboard - Indoor Shuffleboard
Shuffleboard has become a popular indoor activity and can be played by everyone! If you can push a broom, then you can play shuffleboard.
 
7:30 PM - 8:30 PM    Shinbudo Karate - Karate for Beginners
Shinbudo Karate is a blending of physical training, practical self-defense techniques, and Zen meditation. It's modern karate style is taught in the formal Japanese tradition. Participants will learn to strengthen their spirit, calm their mind and protect themselves. Students should wear loose fitting clothing and be prepared to sweat.
 
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM    Shinbudo Karate - Intermediate Karate Session 2
Shinbudo Karate is a blending of physical training, practical self-defense techniques, and Zen meditation. It's modern karate style is taught in the formal Japanese tradition. Enjoy a Saturday morning of water play with your child while she/he becomes familiar with elementary skills such as water entry, bubble blowing, front kicking, back floating and underwater exploration.YTRec staff will lead the class.Children must wear a swim diaper.

Enjoy smaller classes for the younger children. Children will learn water safety, water exploration, front and back float, proper kicking and arm motions for front crawl and back stroke in a fun and comfortable environment.We would like to keep the children in the class at the same swim level as the other children.YTRec Staff will lead the class.

MATTER OF BALANCE:This is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Because many people experience a fear of falling, they often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. This program will help achieve and overcome that fear.The class is taught by staff from the York County Area Agency on Aging.DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT:  This program will discuss action planning, decision making, dealing with difficult emotions, healthy eating, exercise, communication skills, using your mind & more! Participants are 60+ living with type 2 diabetes or 60+ caregiver of someone living with type 2 diabetes.CHRONIC DISEASE SELF-MANAGEMENT PROGRAM - LOOKING BEYOND MY CONDITION:CDSMP was developed by Stanford University.  It's a self-management education workshop attended for people with a variety of chronic health conditions like arthritis, pain, hypertension, cancer and more.  It aims to build participants' confidence in managing their health by providing tools like healthy eating, stress management, dealing with difficult emotions, action planning and more.

Join York County Walks by walking the York Township Park Trail, a 1.2 mile path to better health. Participants are asked to meet at the Gazebo near Soccer Field #1 for a 5 minute gentle stretch before walking the trail.  Everyone is welcome!  Be sure to dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and bring your own water.
 
8:00 AM - 4:00 PM    HAM RADIO CLASS - HAM Radio Class
Preparation and Test for FCC Amateur Radio Technician License.  Come with an open mind, pen and paper.  We discourage the use of iPhones, etc. in the class except for emergencies.  Please put on vibrate.  A simple calculator and a windows PC are useful. Participants must attend both days, Saturday,  8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Sunday,  8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. FCC License Testing will be held on Sunday, 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. There may be a $15 FCC License Testing Fee.  This is determined by the testing team that is independent of the instructor.

MATTER OF BALANCE:This is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Because many people experience a fear of falling, they often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. This program will help achieve and overcome that fear.The class is taught by staff from the York County Area Agency on Aging.DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT:  This program will discuss action planning, decision making, dealing with difficult emotions, healthy eating, exercise, communication skills, using your mind & more! Participants are 60+ living with type 2 diabetes or 60+ caregiver of someone living with type 2 diabetes.CHRONIC DISEASE SELF-MANAGEMENT PROGRAM - LOOKING BEYOND MY CONDITION:CDSMP was developed by Stanford University.  It's a self-management education workshop attended for people with a variety of chronic health conditions like arthritis, pain, hypertension, cancer and more.  It aims to build participants' confidence in managing their health by providing tools like healthy eating, stress management, dealing with difficult emotions, action planning and more.

Participants are asked to meet at the Gazebo near Soccer Field #1 for a 5 minute gentle stretch before walking the trail.  Everyone is welcome!  Be sure to dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and bring your own water.

AARP offers 2 courses designed to meet the needs of older drivers.AARP 55 SAFE DRIVER'S COURSE Several topics will be covered, including how to compensate for changes in vision, hearing and reaction time; how medications may affect driving; how to handle problem situations such as left turns, right-of-way, freeway traffic, trucks, blind spots, and aggressive drivers; and more.  In Pennsylvania, everyone who successfully completes this course will receive a 5% discount on automobile insurance for three years.  If both husband and wife drive, they both must complete the class to receive the discount.  This is an eight-hour class held over 2 days and participants must attend both days.  AARP REFRESHER COURSEThis course is for those who have taken the eight-hour AARP 55 SAFE DRIVER COURSE and their certification needs to be renewed.  This course will cover everything required to keep your certification current.  Participants need to bring verification they have completed the eight-hour course by presenting either a copy of their certification from AARP or information from the insurance company.

Senior StridesThis is a low-impact class with interval weight training. If you are able to march forward and step side to side, then this class is for you!  This class will also help you develop stronger muscles in your chest, shoulders, biceps, and back by using light hand weights.Toning, Abs and PilatesThis hour long class is a mix of weight training, abdominal workout, and core strengthening mat pilates. Weights and mats available.Sit-N-Get Fit! Are you interested in joining a fitness class, but are worried that it might be too strenuous on your joints?  Maybe you think you won't be able to keep up with everyone?  Have you ever been sitting in a chair and started tapping your feet or lifting your shoulders up in time to the music?  If you have, then Sit-N-Get Fit is the class for you!  This is a 30 minute class allowing you to sit the entire time while you strengthen, tone and become more flexible.POUND FIT: Pound fitness is the world's first cardio jam session!  A combination cardio and weight training exercise approach that includes some of the rhythmic techniques used in  Pilates.  Pound is a full-body workout. It includes exercises that involve alternate squatting and standing to strengthen the inner and outer thigh, buttocks, core muscles, and aback muscles.  this fitness workout is for all ages, and fitness levels.ZUMBA: Join the fusion of Latin and international music/dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, workout that is fun for everyone!  The routines feature aerobic fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.Hatha Yoga:  Participants will be instructed on how to connect their breath with guided sun salutations and other asanas (poses) and finish the class with a nice restorative rest..  This practice can improve flexibility, strength, balance, improve breath, and help center the mind.

Easter Egg Wreath:  Do you enjoy homemade crafts?  Are you often thinking...."Gee, I could do that." Well, get your hot glue gun, glue sticks and plastic eggs together because you are going to make an adorable Easter Egg Wreath!  Participants will need to provide glue gun and glue sticks, all other material will be included.Spring Sunflower Wreath:  Have you ever looked at a sunflower and you just had to smile?  Just think how many smiles you will receive when your friends see this beautiful wreath.  It looks complicated, but if you can cut, fold and tie, then you will have no problem.  All materials included except 10" wire wreath and pipe cleaners.Fall Hanger Swag: Bring a glue gun, glue sticks and extension cord and get ready to create a beautiful Fall Swag for an inside or outside door! Your swag will be made out of deco mesh, ribbon, flowers, and a pumpkin! Snowman Deco Wreath: Bring your glue gun, glue sticks and extension cord.  You will be creating an adorable snowman with a top hat, starry eyes and a carrot nose!  Your wreath will be made out of deco mesh and 2 wire wreaths. Sample wreath is hanging in Rec office.Garden Hose Wreath: Calling all gardeners!!  Welcome Spring into your home with an adorable front door Garden Hose Wreath.  You will use a 20' hose and attach Spring flowers, garden gloves, and watering can to show off your green thumb to all your visitors! Please bring a pair of garden gloves, glue gun, glue sticks and extension cord.Picture Frame Lanterns: Participants will be amazed at how easy it is to make and how beautiful these Lanterns are.  Each participant will make (2) 8" x 8" lantern.  Please bring a glue gun, glue sticks and extension cord.Faux Metal Flower: Bring a glue gun, glue sticks and extension cord and ge ready to create a beautiful Faux Metal Flower for inside or outside decor!
