Senior StridesThis is a low-impact class with interval weight training. If you are able to march forward and step side to side, then this class is for you!  This class will also help you develop stronger muscles in your chest, shoulders, biceps, and back by using light hand weights.Toning, Abs and PilatesThis hour long class is a mix of weight training, abdominal workout, and core strengthening mat pilates. MATTER OF BALANCE:This is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Because many people experience a fear of falling, they often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. This program will help achieve and overcome that fear.The class is taught by staff from the York County Area Agency on Aging.DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT:  This program will discuss action planning, decision making, dealing with difficult emotions, healthy eating, exercise, communication skills, using your mind & more! Participants are 60+ living with type 2 diabetes or 60+ caregiver of someone living with type 2 diabetes.

Shinbudo Karate is a blending of physical training, practical self-defense techniques, and Zen meditation. It's modern karate style is taught in the formal Japanese tradition. Participants will learn to strengthen their spirit, calm their mind and protect themselves. Students should wear loose fitting clothing and be prepared to sweat.

Participants must attend both days, Saturday,  8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Sunday,  8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. FCC License Testing will be held on Sunday, 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. There may be a $15 FCC License Testing Fee.  This is determined by the testing team that is independent of the instructor.

This course aims to provide basic level language training to students through listening, speaking, reading and writing.  The course content focuses on conversation in everyday settings.  The topics include introduction to Chinese characters, greetings, family, dates and time, hobbies, making appointments and school life.  This course will enable students to participate in brief conversation with basic Chinese vocabulary and grammar and collect simple information through asking and answering questions.  Through various kinds of exercises, students are expected to understand simple signs and general messages that contain familiar characters and give brief answers to simple questions closely related to their personal life with what they have acquired in Chinese.

Easter Egg Wreath:  Do you enjoy homemade crafts?  Are you often thinking...."Gee, I could do that." Well, get your hot glue gun, glue sticks and plastic eggs together because you are going to make an adorable Easter Egg Wreath!  Participants will need to provide glue gun and glue sticks, all other material will be included.Spring Sunflower Wreath:  Have you ever looked at a sunflower and you just had to smile?  Just think how many smiles you will receive when your friends see this beautiful wreath.  It looks complicated, but if you can cut, fold and tie, then you will have no problem.  All materials included except 10" wire wreath and pipe cleaners.Fall Hanger Swag: Bring a glue gun, glue sticks and extension cord and get ready to create a beautiful Fall Swag for an inside or outside door! Your swag will be made out of deco mesh, ribbon, flowers, and a pumpkin! Snowman Deco Wreath: Bring your glue gun, glue sticks and extension cord.  You will be creating an adorable snowman with a top hat, starry eyes and a carrot nose!  Your wreath will be made out of deco mesh and 2 wire wreaths. Sample wreath is hanging in Rec office.Garden Hose Wreath: Calling all gardeners!!  Welcome Spring into your home with an adorable front door Garden Hose Wreath.  You will use a 20' hose and attach Spring flowers, garden gloves, and watering can to show off your green thumb to all your visitors! Please bring a pair of garden gloves, glue gun, glue sticks and extension cord.Picture Frame Lanterns: Participants will be amazed at how easy it is to make and how beautiful these Lanterns are.  Each participant will make (2) 8" x 8" lantern.  Please bring a glue gun, glue sticks and extension cord.Faux Metal Flower: Bring a glue gun, glue sticks and extension cord and ge ready to create a beautiful Faux Metal Flower for inside or outside decor!

8:30 AM - 12:30 PM    AARP Driver Safety Courses - AARP Driver Refresher Class
AARP offers 2 courses designed to meet the needs of older drivers.AARP 55 SAFE DRIVER'S COURSE Several topics will be covered, including how to compensate for changes in vision, hearing and reaction time; how medications may affect driving; how to handle problem situations such as left turns, right-of-way, freeway traffic, trucks, blind spots, and aggressive drivers; and more.  In Pennsylvania, everyone who successfully completes this course will receive a 5% discount on automobile insurance for three years.  If both husband and wife drive, they both must complete the class to receive the discount.  This is an eight-hour class held over 2 days and participants must attend both days.  AARP REFRESHER COURSEThis course is for those who have taken the eight-hour AARP 55 SAFE DRIVER COURSE and their certification needs to be renewed.  This course will cover everything required to keep your certification current.  Participants need to bring verification they have completed the eight-hour course by presenting either a copy of their certification from AARP or information from the insurance company.

MATTER OF BALANCE:This is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Because many people experience a fear of falling, they often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. This program will help achieve and overcome that fear.The class is taught by staff from the York County Area Agency on Aging.DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT:  This program will discuss action planning, decision making, dealing with difficult emotions, healthy eating, exercise, communication skills, using your mind & more! Participants are 60+ living with type 2 diabetes or 60+ caregiver of someone living with type 2 diabetes.
 
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM    Basic Chinese - Basic Chinese Session 1
This course aims to provide basic level language training to students through listening, speaking, reading and writing.  The course content focuses on conversation in everyday settings.  The topics include introduction to Chinese characters, greetings, family, dates and time, hobbies, making appointments and school life.  This course will enable students to participate in brief conversation with basic Chinese vocabulary and grammar and collect simple information through asking and answering questions.  Through various kinds of exercises, students are expected to understand simple signs and general messages that contain familiar characters and give brief answers to simple questions closely related to their personal life with what they have acquired in Chinese.

Shinbudo Karate is a blending of physical training, practical self-defense techniques, and Zen meditation. It's modern karate style is taught in the formal Japanese tradition. AARP offers 2 courses designed to meet the needs of older drivers.AARP 55 SAFE DRIVER'S COURSE Several topics will be covered, including how to compensate for changes in vision, hearing and reaction time; how medications may affect driving; how to handle problem situations such as left turns, right-of-way, freeway traffic, trucks, blind spots, and aggressive drivers; and more.  In Pennsylvania, everyone who successfully completes this course will receive a 5% discount on automobile insurance for three years.  If both husband and wife drive, they both must complete the class to receive the discount.  This is an eight-hour class held over 2 days and participants must attend both days.  AARP REFRESHER COURSEThis course is for those who have taken the eight-hour AARP 55 SAFE DRIVER COURSE and their certification needs to be renewed.  This course will cover everything required to keep your certification current.  Participants need to bring verification they have completed the eight-hour course by presenting either a copy of their certification from AARP or information from the insurance company.

Basic handgun Training:This class will teach firearm ownership responsibility, facing an imminent threat (perpetrator), multiple shooting stances, shooting defensively, handgun action types, draw stroke from a concealed position, racking the slide, holsters, loading/unloading, grip, causes of firearm accidents, ammo storage and more.Attack, Prevent Being Victimized: This is a 3 hour course providing you with the skill-set and training to not be an easy target. The first step toward safeguarding your personal safety is making a pro-active decision to develop personal awareness before you need it.  The following topics and more will be covered: Criminal mentality                   Personal boundaries Levels of awareness                 Common places of attack Self-defense devices                Self-defense techniques Physical security                      Home, auto security Realtor Reality: This course is uniquely designed for Realtors who show homes and properties placing themselves in a potential dangerous situation.  Violent crimes are on the rise against Realtors.  Four percent of realtors report being the victim of a crime on the job.  Forty percent say they've been in a situation where they feared for their safety.  This course provides training in realtor awareness, realtor tips never to be broken, keeping safe boundaries with clients, venting clients, personal self-defense techniques, personal defense devices, self-defense tips, when facing an imminent threat. This course covers both non-handgun and handgun training providing a well-rounded course for realtors.

Senior StridesThis is a low-impact class with interval weight training. If you are able to march forward and step side to side, then this class is for you!  This class will also help you develop stronger muscles in your chest, shoulders, biceps, and back by using light hand weights.Toning, Abs and PilatesThis hour long class is a mix of weight training, abdominal workout, and core strengthening mat pilates. Weights and mats available.Sit-N-Get Fit! 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM    Basic Chinese - Basic Chinese Session 1
This course aims to provide basic level language training to students through listening, speaking, reading and writing.  The course content focuses on conversation in everyday settings.  The topics include introduction to Chinese characters, greetings, family, dates and time, hobbies, making appointments and school life.  This course will enable students to participate in brief conversation with basic Chinese vocabulary and grammar and collect simple information through asking and answering questions.  Through various kinds of exercises, students are expected to understand simple signs and general messages that contain familiar characters and give brief answers to simple questions closely related to their personal life with what they have acquired in Chinese.
 
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM    Shinbudo Karate - Intermediate Karate Session 1
Shinbudo Karate is a blending of physical training, practical self-defense techniques, and Zen meditation. It's modern karate style is taught in the formal Japanese tradition. Participants will learn to strengthen their spirit, calm their mind and protect themselves. Students should wear loose fitting clothing and be prepared to sweat.
